After School Studio
Our mission is to “Refresh the City,” and so it’s important that our neighborhood studio is used frequently by students as a safe place where they can be creative and learn. We currently offer multiple free after school programs for students. We also partner with community organizations such as Deep Roots to offer Mural and art classes for our students.
Music Class
Every Tues/Thurs 4-5:30 at the Fresh Lab (5409 Detroit Ave)
Students come together to create music under the guidance of Teaching Artists. Students also have the opportunity to work on at least one music video and perform at least one show, furthering their skills of creativity, collaboration, and confidence.
Create Your Own Project
Every Sat from 11 am - 1 pm at the Fresh Lab (5409 Detroit Ave)
Students can use the studio space and mentorship at Refresh Collective to create the project of their dreams! Past projects included a cover EP of Broadway songs, a short film, a musical album, a YouTube channel, a photo essay on East Cleveland, and sci-fi short stories.
During the year, we also continually provide programming and special events for our whole community. Refresh students are consistently invited to perform at community events and non-profit galas, such as REAP2022 hosted by Refugee Response or Cleveland’s annual Juneteenth Festival. We also host events such as cookouts, World Cup watch parties, and a yearly Super Smash Bros Tournament.
